Legal notice and privacy
Transparency about the site publisher, hosting and the processing of personal data.
Site publisher▾
This site is published by ACAPE Burundi, a non-profit association (a.s.b.l) governed by Burundian law, registered under Ministerial Order no. 530/21442 of 28/11/2019, with its registered office in Bujumbura, Avenue du Commerce N°11, Immeuble SANOGO, Bureau N°22 (near Air Burundi). Contact: +257 62 099 672 · info@acape-burundi.org. Publication director: the President of ACAPE Burundi.
Hosting▾
The site is hosted by AfriRegister (afriregister.com · admin@afriregister.com · +257 22 25 83 63), on a server located in France.
Intellectual property▾
The platform’s educational content (module texts, factsheets, guides) is made available for educational, non-commercial use, provided that ACAPE Burundi and the e-muhira platform are cited and that the meaning is not altered. For any other use, write to info@acape-burundi.org. Third-party trade marks, logos and content remain the property of their respective owners.
Protection of personal data▾
The platform’s forms — Write to us, Register our environmental club, Commit our parish and Report an environmental alert — collect only the data needed for their purpose. This data is neither sold nor passed to third parties for commercial purposes. It is kept for as long as is needed to handle the request, then deleted. The data controller is ACAPE Burundi, contactable at info@acape-burundi.org.
In accordance with the applicable regulations, you may request access to, correction of or deletion of your data by writing to info@acape-burundi.org.
Filling in these forms requires an account on the platform. Creating an account is free and involves an age check: people under 16 cannot register on their own and must go through a responsible adult. The platform runs on the free software Moodle, which also records logins and progress through the modules taken.
Recipients. Form responses are accessible only to the members of the ACAPE Burundi team responsible for monitoring the programme, and to the platform’s technical administrators. They are not passed to any third party, except for transmission to the competent authorities in the case of environmental alerts, and after verification. Security. Exchanges with the platform are encrypted (HTTPS) and access to responses is restricted by account and role.
Complaints handling mechanism▾
Anyone — participant, supervisor, partner, community member — may submit a complaint, a grievance or a report concerning the Génér’Action Verte Imuhira programme or the conduct of its representatives.
Three channels are open: the platform’s Write to us form, the email address info@acape-burundi.org or the phone number +257 62 099 672, and post to ACAPE Burundi, Avenue du Commerce N°11, Immeuble SANOGO, Bureau N°22, Bujumbura.
Every complaint is recorded and handled by the team. The identity of the complainant is not published.
Protection against exploitation and abuse▾
ACAPE Burundi works with schools, authorities, parishes and communities — never in their place. No tolerance is shown towards exploitation, abuse or harassment, especially towards children and vulnerable people.
The commitments that follow from this on the platform: no photograph of an identifiable person without consent, and without the consent of parents or guardians for minors; no partner name or logo without written agreement; any action in a public space preceded by informing the local authorities and obtaining the necessary permissions; no handling of hazardous waste by participants; the contact details of people who report something are never published.
A report of exploitation or abuse can be submitted through the channels of the complaints handling mechanism above, stating that it is a confidential report.
Environmental alert reports▾
The information submitted through the “Environmental alerts” page is checked by the team before any publication or transmission to the competent authorities. The contact details of people reporting an alert are never published. This service does not replace the official emergency channels.
Photographs and consent▾
Photographs of identifiable people are published only with their consent — and that of parents or guardians for minors. Anyone may request the removal of an image showing them.
Conversational assistant▾
The platform provides logged-in members with an automatic assistant, recognisable by the green bubble at the bottom of the screen. It is not available without an account.
What is sent. To produce an answer, your question and the most recent exchanges in the current conversation are sent to Google’s Gemini API. This transmission contains neither your name, nor your email address, nor your member ID: Google receives the text of the question, nothing that would identify you from the platform. Do not write personal data, passwords or information about another person in this window.
What is kept. Conversations are not stored on the platform. Only the timestamps of your questions are kept for twenty-four hours, in order to limit the number of requests per member. The access key to the service stays on the server and appears on no page.
How much the answers are worth. They are produced automatically and may be inaccurate. They do not commit ACAPE Burundi and constitute neither medical advice, nor legal advice, nor an official position of the programme. For an answer that commits the organisation, write to info@acape-burundi.org.
Cookies and audience measurement▾
The platform sets a single cookie, MoodleSession, strictly necessary for it to work: it keeps your session alive while you browse and disappears when the browser is closed. It is transmitted over HTTPS and stays inaccessible to scripts. No advertising cookie, no third-party tracker and no external audience-measurement tool is installed.
