Report an environmental alert
Entries are submitted with an e-muhira account. If the “Add entry” button does not appear, log in or create an account.
This register receives environmental alerts observed in the field: illegal dumping, pollution of a water point, illegal logging, bush fire, flooding, landslide.
Your safety comes before the alert. Do not approach a dangerous situation, do not confront anyone on your own, do not take photographs where that could cause a conflict. An incomplete alert is better than a reporter in danger. In case of immediate emergency, warn the local authority first: this form does not replace any emergency service.
Describe facts, not people. What you saw, where, when. No names of people accused: the investigation is not yours to run, and an accusation made here would put both the programme and you at risk.
Who sees your alert? You and the programme team, nobody else. Every alert submitted is unverified until the team checks it: this is the principle of citizen reporting platforms, and the “not approved” label on your entry means exactly that — received, not yet verified.
No internet or no account? Call +257 62 099 672 or write to info@acape-burundi.org. An alert passed on by phone counts just as much as one submitted here.
